What is CyberCity?

Connecting High School to JMU College of Business

The Computer Information Systems program in the College of Business is interested in recruiting the best and brightest students in Virginia. We need to work hand in hand with high school computer teachers to accomplish our goals. CyberCity can create this relationship.

CyberCity is aligned with the goals of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills and the National Education Technology Standards for Teachers NETS educational framework as implemented by the JMU Microsoft Partnership for the 21st Century Skills.

Diverse Initiative

The College of Business at JMU is committed to providing a diverse academic community. We feel strongly that an understanding of diversity in the workplace is vital to business success.

CyberCity has been fully funded by the College of Business and has received financial support from the members of the Dean's Executive Advisory Committee and the organizations they represent.

High schools invited to participate in CyberCity were identified by JMU as containing under-represented populations, thus increasing our opportunity to reach and serve those that are not traditionally achieving a college education.
